Meet "Christmas Jack" (named by his 6-yr old foster parent). We first laid eyes on Christmas Jack when we heard a horrific yelping coming from outside of our shop on North State Street. He had been hit by a truck that just kept driving. We ran to help him, but hurt and scared, he scurried away as
best he could. We searched for him high and low as it was getting dark and cold outside, but found nothing. Hours later, we got a call. Miraculously, he found his way to the front porch of a family that happened to see our online post about the hurt and missing dog. Having just lost their own dog the week before, the family knew that this dog had shown up for a reason. It wasn't just by chance. He needed their help, and they needed him. He had scrapes covering his legs, and what was left of a frayed tether wrapped tightly around his neck. He
had clearly broken free from being chained up outside. The family sprung into action, gave him some food, which he gobbled up, and got him to the doctor. After a trip to the ER, Christmas Jack is now safe and warm with Dawn and her son, Mark, this Christmas. |
